Sponsors Peterborough City Council will also be running an interactive workshop on the Healthy Peterborough initiative which aims to help companies improve the health and wellbeing of their staff free of charge.

The Peterborough B2B Exhibition is an annual event organised by Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce and Opportunity Peterborough, sponsored by Peterborough City Council and Peterborough Regional College and supported by OlsenMetrix Marketing, KingsGate Conference Centre and KallKwik Peterborough.

John Bridge OBE DL, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said:

“This is a great opportunity for companies to engage with the wider business community and create exciting new prospects for future growth.

“The next quarterly economic survey from the British Chambers of Commerce is due out imminently and previous results for this year have shown that in spite of a little cooling in economic activity, companies are still expecting to employ more people and are feeling confident about increasing their turnover.

“The Peterborough B2B Exhibition is the city’s most established B2B event and there is every indication that this year’s event will be the most successful and productive to date for all who attend.”

Free your mind….   ….with VAR

Virtual and Augmented Reality hit the mainstream in 2016, with VAR being the UK’s first high-end immersive VR organisation to bring the experience to you. At VAR we embraced the opportunities created by this immersive technology – acknowledging the powerful engagement tool it provides for both business and education, to influence audiences in a completely new way.

Augmented Reality (AR) improves, enhances or expands real life by inserting virtual objects into the user's real world environment. Virtual Reality (VR) creates an immersive, completely virtual world that users interact with, using devices that isolate the user from the real world.

By disrupting age-old methods and creating new ones - VAR brings a new dimension to traditional team building, communication training and employee engagement. Or you can simple engage our services for hospitality or reward activities.

“I was blown away by the impact that VAR had on the delegates. Whereas in a normal training environment you get the dreaded silence when seeking a volunteer to undergo an activity, with VAR everybody had their hand up.”

“The evaluation feedback showed that everybody had thoroughly enjoyed the experience and felt like they had learned a lot. Delegates unanimously agreed that using VR as a training aid helped to reinforce and underpin the learning more than usual, due to the unique immersive way in which the material was presented, they all agreed the training experience would resonate with them for a long time.”

At VAR our technology specialists, and experienced learning, design and development professionals are on hand to ensure your virtual reality experience is more than just a fun event - we make sure that learning happens through challenging your team in ways that traditional training just cannot match.

Seminar programme announced

Cyber Security and new Data Protection legislation announced as headline topics at Peterborough B2B Exhibition

Businesses will be able to get the lowdown on the latest cyber security developments and new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as part of the free seminar programme at this year’s event.

The first headline seminar is on cyber security which will be introduced by the Police and Crime Commissioner and run by Redpalm Technology Services which has just launched the cyber-security essential programme with the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce.

Small businesses can be easy targets for cyber-attacks and statistics indicate that 60 per cent of small companies go out of business within six months of an attack. The new service will provide clarity on what essential security controls are required for businesses. Once a business is approved it can promote that it has met a Government approved cyber security scheme.

In addition, attendees can also benefit from a free one hour seminar on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which will come into force in May 2018.

GDPR will impose strict rules about data collection and usage that are more far reaching than the Data Protection Act. Organisations that fail to comply could receive fines of up to €20 million.

The seminar will be led by Mike Holland, Marketing and Communications Director at Olsen Metrix. As a member of professional groups such as the Data Protection Network and the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Mike has attended several courses on GDPR. He will be packing several days of learning into one hour of useful tips.

John Bridge OBE DL, Chief Executive of Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce added: “On top of providing great networking opportunities with professionals from across Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and Northamptonshire, the free seminar programme at the B2B Exhibition aims to inform delegates about a variety of topical issues so they can future-proof their business.

“Including cyber security and GDPR means we can offer vital support so businesses can enhance their security measures and improve their internal data systems ahead of the new regulations coming into force.”

Exhibition spaces are now running out for any businesses wanting to showcase their organisation. Prices are being held at last year’s levels until the end of September. Members of the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce and the Opportunity Peterborough Bondholder Network will receive a discount on bookings.

Exhibitor spaces now available at 18th annual Peterborough B2B Exhibition

Exhibitor bookings are now being taken for the 2017 Peterborough B2B exhibition, one of Peterborough’s biggest business networking events.

Now in its eighteenth year, the Peterborough B2B Exhibition will be returning to the Kingsgate Conference Centre on Wednesday 18 October 2017 from 9.00am–4.00pm.

As one of the most well established local exhibitions in Peterborough the B2B offers the chance for business professionals and organisations from across Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and Northamptonshire to meet and network.

Prices for stands are being held at last year’s prices until 15 September. Members of the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce and the Opportunity Peterborough Bondholder Network will also receive a discount on their bookings.

Attendance on the day is free of charge for delegates who can also benefit from a soon to be finalised seminar line up that aims to cover topics such as social media, marketing and even the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) coming into effect in May 2018 and could get organisations fined up to €20 million for non-compliance.

Alongside informative seminars, the programme will also include two speed networking sessions to help delegates make new contacts and strengthen existing working relationships.

Speaking about the event, John Bridge OBE DL, Chief Executive of the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “We are delighted to be back at the KingsGate Centre once again to host this vibrant business event.

“This is a great opportunity for companies to engage with the wider business community and create exciting new prospects for future growth plus learn some new skills through our free seminars. This year we are offering a GDPR seminar to help businesses enhance their internal data systems to ensure they are compliant with the new regulations ahead of the enforcement deadline in May.”

DSM Group, which provides IT and disaster recovery services, is one of the organisations once again taking a stand: “The local Chamber of Commerce and Opportunity Peterborough are fabulous organisations which allow business to flourish in the area. The Peterborough B2B is an excellent opportunity to catch up with old faces and create some new contacts. It’s always a great atmosphere and a great way to support the local business community. We look forward to meeting you all there!”

Chamber attack to put cyber-crime in the spotlight at #PboroB2B

The Chamber will be subjected to a fictional cyber-attack at the Peterborough B2B Exhibition next week. It will all be part of a free seminar taking place during the event on the ways in which business can use Cyber Essentials, a government-backed scheme, to protect their business and demonstrate their commitment to safeguarding others’ data.

Join us to find out how easy it is to click on a deceptively innocent-looking link, understand what happens next and examples of the sensitive data that is vulnerable.

The session will be delivered by MASS, a world-leading authority in electronic warfare operational support, cyber security, and secure ICT networks, and will take place from 12.30-1.15pm within the Peterborough B2B Exhibition.
